Xiaomi Mi Drone 4K Review and Test Flight

Xiaomi Mi Drone 4K bought from
The Xiaomi Mi Drone 4K needs no introduction; it is one of the best value-for-money Ready-To-Fly camera quadcopter on the market today. It features a strong yet light aircraft body comprised of foldable landing gear and removable camera/gimbal, making the quadcopter easier to carry.
The camera is using an Ambarella-based SoC capable of shooting video up to 4K resolution @30fps and the gimbal is a 3-axis one, allowing near-perfect and stable video shots and pictures. This machine is powered from a 4S 5100mAh removable battery and the remote controller also has a built-in recheargable battery, eliminating the need to carry extra batteries.
The quadcopter comes inside a sturdy white box with all components safely packed. My only gripe is that there is some variation on the components included that the user (and even the seller) cannot control; some packages include blade protectors, others include a USB dongle that can be used to connect to the R/C. My package came with blade protectors – which I do not use – so I bought an extra USB dongle to be used instead.
Communication and control of the quadcopter is done using the remote controller (which uses the 5.8GHz band both for navigation and video downlink) together with the Mi Drone app (available for Android and iOS). The smartphone application besides providing live view from the quadcopter camera, provides several other flight modes (Auto Take off/Land, Dronie, Orbit, Waypoint, Tap-to-fly) that help obtaining geat aerial video and pictures. The application also supports flight logging which is very handy in case something goes wrong or if the user needs to replay flights on her computer. Naturally, the user can alter many settings from inside the application that can alter the way the quadcopter and the camera operates.

Below you will find a complete and analytical review of the Xiaomi Mi Drone 4K which you can buy at a special price using the coupon GBMi4K.
